A business and transit city located in the heart of Germany, Frankfurt combines the charm of a medieval city with its half-timbered houses, with the dynamism of contemporary modernism with its forest of skyscrapers. We are going to visit the Städel Museum which offers an exceptional journey through seven centuries of Western art, from the end of the Middle Ages to the present day. The neo-classical portrait of Goethe, the most famous of German writers, painted by Tischbein the Younger in 1787, then revised by Andy Warhol in 1982, are two iconic paintings exhibited in this museum.
