A tall tower in the heart of Copenhagen, the RADISSON SAS ROYAL HOTEL is both a grand modern hotel and an airline terminal, marking Denmark's entry into post-war modernity. It was a major work of the 1950s, under the banner of functionalism, simplicity and elegance. This total work of art, where everything from the ashtray to the volume of the building was conceived and designed by the same man, Arne Jacobsen, the great Scandinavian architect and designer.
