Edvard Munch can be considered like the pioneer of expressionism in modern painting. He was known as a member of a new artistic era. His work and importance are now recognized in Europe and throughout the world, his main skills are painting and tempera on cardboard. The artist left more than thirteen thousand handwritten pages, divided between diaries, correspondence, notebooks of artistic creation and annotations, notes and sketches commented sometimes on loose sheets.
