Sugimoto House

Sugimoto House
This is a traditional wooden townhouse built in 1743 in the center of Kyoto. Destroyed by fire in 1864, it was rebuilt identically 4 years later. Invisible codes hierarchize the use of spaces. There are no walls or windows, "it's an accumulation of voids". This fluid, flexible space is a source of inspiration for contemporary architecture.
