William Turner is known throughout the world as one of the best landscape painters of the English school. He strived to represent landscapes in what was qualified as a romantic style. As his artistic creations progressed, which are revealed here, Turner gave himself over to greater fantasy and boldness in his treatment of colour and light, verging on the imaginary in such a way as to be considered today as one of the precursors of impressionism.
